    This is the last of a three-year preparation for the Jubilee Year 2000.  The Holy Father has called the Church to reflect on God the Father during the year 1999.  I think that is wonderful, and I suspect that you do, too.  But, like you, I wonder how shall we do that.  When we speak of the Son, we can reflect on the words and actions of Jesus.  During 1998, when we pondered the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we were faced with a similar dilemma.  We could imagine the Spirit in confirmation or baptism, but found it hard to know how best to celebrate that year.
    In the creed each Sunday we declare that we believe in God the Father, the creator of the world.  In all of creation we witness the majesty of God.  To ponder the mystery of creation, we look at the ocean and see mystery and awesome power.  In the Grand Canyon, we see the patient endurance of our God to create such beauty over millions of years.  In the creation of new life is the spark of God.  Every human being shares in the image and likeness of God.  Jesus reminded us that when we see Him, we see the Father.
    We also believe that God the Father has been revealed in the scriptures.  Who did Abraham, Moses, and Isaiah pray to?  They knew God to be One.  We know they prayed to the Father.  They understood that God was a loving parent who wanted us with Him forever.  We understand in the psalms of a God who is "slow to anger and abounding in kindness."  We hear of God who can turn our sins "though they be scarlet, as white as the snow."  We see God in the Song of Songs as a lover who seeks us out.
    We pray to God the Father in the Mass.  In fact, except for the penitential rite and the Gloria, the entire Mass is directed to God, the Father.  We offer God our thanks and praise.  We ask God to send the Spirit to transform the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ.  We pray to the Father for our needs and we ask Him to give us the grace to be transformed by the Eucharist we received to do ministry and service.
    So, to celebrate the glory of the Father, we see God in creation, in the scriptures, and in the Mass.  We can also pray to the Father our love in the following prayer or in words similar to it:

 Dear Father, please accept this offering of myself—my body, mind,  and soul.
 I praise you for your creation—all your works and wonders.
 I thank You for giving me life and for all you have done for me.
 I offer up to You all that You have so generously given to me.
 I am sincerely sorry for not knowing, loving, serving, and  honoring
 You as I should.
 I give you my "Yes" so that I may be an instrument of Your will. I ask  you, Father, for the sake of all mankind:  To have mercy on all Your  children, to bring peace to the world and to gather all Your children to  Yourself, and that Your Kingdom comes and Your will is done on earth  as it is in heaven. Amen.

    In preparation for the Jubilee Year 2000, Pope John Paul strongly urges a fresh program of evangelization for the Americas, as stated in his recent visit to Mexico and St. Louis.  Evangelization is the process of learning more about our faith and sharing it with others.

    In this third year of preparation, "neighborhood discussion groups" will be continued.  Discussion groups will meet in selected homes throughout the parish.  Programs will be available in English and Spanish.

Morning Star School Luncheon and Bazaar The parents of Morning Star School are sponsoring their 10th Annual Spring Luncheon & Bazaar on Sunday, March 21, from 12:00 - 4:30 p.m. on the school grounds at 954 Leigh Avenue off of Edgewater Drive in Orlando.  All proceeds benefit the school, the only one of its kind in the area.  The staff of Morning Star School provides academic, social and spiritual education for children with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges.  Admission to the event is free.  For more information, contact the school at (407) 295-3077.

    Este es el último año de preparación para el Año Jubilar 2000. El Santo Padre ha llamado a la Iglesia a reflexionar sobre Dios, El Padre, durante el año 1999. Creo que eso es maravilloso y sospecho que ustedes piensan lo mismo. Pero, al igual que ustedes, me pregunto como vamos a hacer ésto. Cuando le hablamos al Hijo, podemos reflexionar sobre las palabras y acciones de Jesús. Durante el 1998, cuando ponderamos el rol del Espíritu    Santo en nuestras vidas, nos enfrentamos a un dilema similar. Podiamos imaginarnos al Espirtu en la Confirmación o el Bautismo, pero encontramos que era dificil saber como mejor celebrar dicho año.
    En el Credo cada dommgo declaramos que creemos en Dios Padre, el creador del mundo. A través de toda la creación somos testigos de la majestad de Dios. Para ponderar el misterio de la creación miramos al océano y vemos el misterio y su poder sorprendente. En el Gran Cañon contemplamos la paciente perseverancia de nuestro Dios al crear tal belleza durante millones de años. En la creación de toda nueva  vida está el reflejo de Dios. Cada ser humano comparte la Imagen y la, Semejanza con Dios. Jesús nos recuerda que cuando le vemos a El vemos al Padre.
    También creemos que Dios, el Padre, se ha revelado a través de las Escrituras. ¿A quién rezaron Abraham, Moisés e Isaias? Ellos sabian que Dios es Uno. Nosostros sabemos que ellos rezaban al Padre. Ellos entendian que Dios es un padre cariñoso que desea que estemos con El para siempre. Comprendemos a través de los salmos de un Dios que es "lento en la ira y rico en clemencia." Oimos que Dios puede volver nuestros pecados  "aunque sean de color púrpura, a tan blancos como La nieve." Vemos a Dios en el Cantar de los Cantares como un amante que nos busca.
    Oramos al Padre en la Misa. De hecho, excepto por el rito penitencial y el gloria, toda la Misa está dirigida a Dios, el Padre. Ofrecemos a Dios nuestras gracias y alabanzas. Pedimos a Dios que envíe su Espíritu para tranformar el pan y el vino en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Rezamos al Padre por nuestras necesidades y le pedimos que nos de la gracia de ser
transformados a través de la Eucaristía que  recibimos, de manera que podamos hacer apostolado y servir.
    Asi mismo, para celebrar la gloria del Padre vemos a Dios en la creación, en las Escrituras y en la Misa. Tambíen podemos rezar al Padre y expresarle nuestro amor mediante este siguiente rezo, o en palabras parecidas:

Amado Padre. por favor acepta el ofrecimiento de mi mismo--mi cuerpo.
mente y alma.
Te alabo por Tu creación--todos tus trabajos y maravillas.
Te doy gracias por darme mi vida todo lo que has hecho por mi.
Te ofrezco todo lo que Tu tan generosamente me has dado.
Lamento sinceramente el no conocerte, amarte, servirte y honrarte como debiera.
Te do mi "Si" con el fin de que pueda ser un instrumento de tu Voluntad.
Te pido, Padre, a nombre de toda la humanidad: Ten misericordia de todos Tus hijos, trae la paz al mundo y une a todos Tus hijos en Ti, y que Tu Reino llegue y Tu Voluntad sea realizada asi en la tierra como en el Cielo. .Amen.
