Lenten Regulations

Abstinence on all the Fridays of Lent, and on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

No meat may be eaten on days of abstinence.

Catholics 14 years and older are bound to abstain from meat. Invalids, pregnant and nursing mothers are exempt.

Fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Fasting means having only one full meal to maintain one's strength. Two smaller, meatless and penitential meals are permitted according to one's needs, but they should not together equal the one full meal. Eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.

Catholics from age 18 through age 59 are bound to fast.

Again, invalids, pregnant and nursing mothers are exempt.

NORMAS PARA EL TIEMPO DE CUARESMA

La abstinencia o ayuno se hará todos los viernes de cuaresma, el miércoles de Ceniza y el viernes Santo.

Los días de abstinencia o ayuno, no se comerá carne.

Los católicos mayores de 14 años pueden abstenerse de comer carne.

Los inválidos, madres embarazadas o madres lactantes están dispensadas de hacerlo.

Y VIERNES SANTO

AYUNAR significa tomar una sola comida completa al día para mantener nuestra fuerza. Se permiten dos comidas pequeñas y comidas penitenciales, de acuerdo a las necesidades de cada uno.

Sin embargo, estas dos comidas no deben exceder una comida completa entre las dos. No se permite comer comidas sólidas entre dichas comidas.

El AYUNO Es obligatorio para todos los católicos mayores de 18 años y hasta los 59.

ESTAN EXCENTOS: INVALIDOS, MUJERES EMBARAZADAS Y EN PERIODO DE LACTANCIA.
